Description

At this meetup, we’ll feature several presenters talking about best practices for dealing with device fragmentation in streaming video. After the presentations, you’ll get to socialize with your colleagues in a cool 8-bit virtual environment (trust us, it’s awesome) and then we’ll come back together for a trivia game with a cool prize!

Recap

As our very first meetup, the event went off spectacularly. We had two really great presentations, with some good questions. The trivia was especially fun (and at times, challenging) and everyone seemed to love the 8-bit virtual environment after. Zach and Chris did an excellent job of “tending bar.”

Testimonials

Attending the SVA West Coast meetup was fun and informative! The meetup format allowed me to learn a lot while providing an opportunity to mingle with industry peers and leaders. The short 10 minute talks were packed with insights into current industry challenges and trends directly from the people who are in the proverbial trenches and succeeding at the forefront of the OTT video streaming industry. The following trivia and social gathering portion of the meetup was easy going and enabled me to chat with participants and presenters! I am looking forward to the next event!

Jason and the SVA organizers did a great job adapting an in-person meetup to a streaming meetup. The post talk trivia and 8bit social hour was a fun addition. I look forward to being able to teleport into the next meeting!

We’ve all been missing and craving some human contact in our professional lives, and this SVA Meetup was just the thing we needed. In addition to the very informative presentations from ViacomCBS and Hulu, the virtual happy hour provided a great opportunity to walk up to the participants and have a casual chat.

It was great attending and speaking at the SVA Meet-up! Gatherings like this are great to see the collaborative spirit of the industry come forward to share details on experiences and help others elevate to the next level of experience. I must also say the 8-bit social hour was a fun and needed connection of humanity that has been lost among the world events this year. Thanks again to SVA for organizing!
