In 2019, the Streaming Video Alliance is celebrating its five-year anniversary. Over these past years, the Alliance has established itself as a leading resource for best practices, guidelines, and specifications for streaming video. From our inception, to our face-to-face meetings, to all of our publications, the timeline below captures some of our accomplishments leading up to 2019. First International Meeting

The Alliance’s sixth meeting was also it’s first European meeting, held in London, England on September 7, 2016. This meeting was hosted by Sky.

The Alliance forms a collaborative relationship with the Consumer Technology Association to share findings and publications as well as work jointly on future projects.

The Alliance forms its first study group, VR/360-Degree Video, to study the market for these emerging streaming technologies.

Open Caching First POC

The Open Caching working group began its first working trials of the Open Caching Network. Participants included Charter, Limelight Networks, Major League Baseball Advanced Media, Qwilt, Verizon, Viacom, Viasat, and Yahoo.

The Alliance held its eighth member meeting on February 9, 2017 in Santa, Clara CA. This meeting was hosted by Ericsson at their new facility.
