In 2019, the Streaming Video Alliance is celebrating its five-year anniversary. Over these past years, the Alliance has established itself as a leading resource for best practices, guidelines, and specifications for streaming video. From our inception, to our face-to-face meetings, to all of our publications, the timeline below captures some of our accomplishments leading up to 2019. Improved QoS for Ad Delivery in OTT
The best practices presented in this paper, developed by a number of contributing companies in the Streaming Video Alliance’s Advertising Working Group, address a myriad of considerations for any OTT service provider that is considering the inclusion of advertising in their offering to ensure the best possible viewing experience.
VR Market Study
In this in-depth analysis of the current state of VR, the VR/360-Degree Study Group analyzed the current crop of technologies and the state of the VR industry as it relates to streaming video.
First Two-Day Member Meeting
The Alliance’s fourteenth member meeting was also its third international meeting and the first two-day event. It was held on October 10 and 11, 2018 in Budapest, Hungary at the IBM Cloud facilities (formerly Ustream). All meetings going forward are two day events.
Fifteenth Member Meeting
The fifteenth meeting of the Alliance, the second two-day format, was held in Burbank, CA and was hosted by Disney Streaming Services at the famous Disney Backlot Studios.
Sixteenth Member Meeting
The Alliance’s sixteenth member meeting was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and hosted by Comcast/NBCUniversal at their brand new Comcast Technology Center.
Five-Year Celebration Begins!
