As 5G launched into global markets, many eyes turned towards the edge of the network. Because even though 5G touted incredible bandwidth, it also enabled a new architecture for the operator network which included a more robust edge. As streaming continues to content with latency, the opportunity to push streaming workflow functions and content closer to the user can’t be missed. In this webinar, we will explore what the Edge Cloud really is and how streaming operators can take advantage of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) and other edge cloud functions to provide a richer, more interactive, and more scalable streaming offering.

Glenn Goldstein (Subject Matter Expert at Streaming Video Technology Alliance (SME))

Glenn is an accomplished engineering and product executive in the digital media industry, working in major media organizations and technology-focused startups. His work with Lumen Technologies drove technical product strategy and customer success for a portfolio of content delivery, video streaming, and edge computing offerings. Glenn was a leader in Viacom’s global technology organization for many years, innovating in the fields of video streaming, content management, media operations, augmented reality, and machine learning. He’s been passionate about video and imaging technologies throughout his career, working on pioneering implementations of digital newsroom photography, digital cameras, and HD video streaming with marquee organizations such as Kodak, Associated Press, Paramount and MTV.

Tuan Tran Thai (Research Engineer at Broadpeak)

Tuan Tran is a senior engineer at Broadpeak and part of Exploration team that develops research and innovation. He has been actively participating in several European collaborative projects and recently in CLOVIM, a French-funded project that developed a virtualized cache infrastructure and orchestrator leveraging edge computing in 5G networks. He has contributed to standardization bodies (e.g., 3GPP, DVB, SVA). He has authored numerous scientific papers and holds several patents. Tuan holds a Master’s degree from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and a Ph.D. in computer science from ISAE-Supaéro

Jason is an inventor on multiple technical patents in the streaming industry and a proven entrepreneur. He is also a contributing editor to Streaming Media Magazine.
