Edge Networking is the new darling of the cloud space. Seemingly on everyone’s lips, the Edge is heralded as The Next Big Thing in networking. But what does that mean to video streaming? Is it possible to push streaming workflow components, like encoders, to the Edge for just-in-time operations? Can the Edge, with powerful compute resources, provide a way to tackle tasks like server-side ad insertion, better and more efficiently to reduce overall streaming latency? It’s clear that the Edge is coming but what it will provide for video still remains to be seen. In this webinar, we will discuss the Edge and how this new technology can be applied to improving the viewer experience and offering video distributors and content creators new opportunities to further differentiate streaming from broadcast. Panelists for this exciting webinar will be announced shortly. This webinar will be moderated by Jason Thibeault, Executive Director of the Streaming Video Alliance.
